Listed
below are some of the more Frequently Asked Questions by our
TCH customers and users. We'll update these on a regular basis. |
Generally, if all of your billing information is in order, it
should take between 1-12 hours to set up your account.
In the event of a billing problem please e-mail our Billing Department.
If you wish to cancel your TCH account, please open a support
ticket with the billing department here: TotalChoice
Hosting Cancellation Request.
All sites come equipped with CPANEL.
Navigate to https://www.yoursite.com/cpanel and replace "yoursite.com"
with your domain name. You can also take CPanel
for a test drive!
Your main account user name is automatically generated and cannot
be changed. Please click
here to read our account name policy.
Yes, we support all the standard domain name suffixes, including
.cc!
If you have received a notification e-mail and it's been over
48 hours, it means either that you did not point your domain
name to the right DNS servers, or that your ISP's DNS server
has not yet been updated. It generally takes 24 hours for domain
names to become active. This is just how the Internet works;
there is no way we can speed up the process.
This could be caused by a provisioning error. If you have not
received any e-mails from us with a few hours of ordering please
contact us via live chat or via e-mail.
Your welcome e-mail will detail which of our DNS servers you
should point your URL to. However, all virtual hosting accounts
point to:
NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM
NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM
We follow ARIN guidelines. The only sites
that will be sold dedicated IPs are -
Reseller accounts that use Private Name Servers

Yes. All FTP and incoming/outgoing e-mail traffic counts against
your total bandwidth.
You will receive an automatic e-mail message warning you that
you have reached 80% of your contracted limit. This should give
you plenty of time to contact TCH and purchase more bandwidth.
Once you have exceeded your limit, your account is suspended
for the rest of the current month.
Yes. We run mySQL server version 4.0.12
Cpanel allows you to use phpMyAdmin to edit mySQL tables through
the use of SQL query language.
Yes, every site comes with its own CGI-BIN to allow you to run
your own perl scripts.
You may use either #!/usr/bin/perl -or- #!/usr/local/bin/perl
Both will work!
All sites are equipped with web based e-mail. This is all explained
in your sign up letter.
To take advantage of Server Side Includes(SSI) in your web page,
make sure the web page has the extension .SHTML and not .HTML
Not at all. TotalChoice does not place any advertisement on
your site whatsoever. No banners, no annoying pop-ups, nothing.
Yes! You will be able to send and receive e-mail through our
servers. In technical terms, we provide both POP3 and SMTP capabilities.
Effective 10/16/2003 TCH will no longer offer any form of SSH
to our clients, including JailShell. As of now, if a client
already has shell access they will be allowed the continued
use of it. A decision on this is forthcoming. If I decide to
remove ssh from all users any fees that were paid will be refunded
to the end user.
